Fox orders another cop comedy, this time a cartoon

Adding to the "cop comedy" renaissance that we just finished writing up right before reading about this, damn it, Fox has picked up yet another new series about the hilarity of incompetent police work. Murder Police—from Family Guy and Futurama producer David A. Goodman and Fox Inkubation-groomed animator Jason Ruiz—has received a 13-episode order, the network's first for a new animated series since Allen Gregory and Napoleon Dynamite, two shows that demonstrate why Fox hasn't ordered new animated series in a while. As dictated by the rules of the cop comedy, Murder Police will follow a dysfunctional group of bumbling halfwits who are nevertheless the only ones you can turn to when some grievous wrong is committed, a loved one is ripped away from you, and you're left to pick up the pieces of a shattered life. This premise will be mined for comedy with the help of funny voices supplied by Ruiz himself, MADtv's Will Sasso, Horatio Sanz, Penny Marshall, and Six Feet Under's Justina Machado. Some of them will also have accents, to take your minds off all the incompetent murder policing.
