Fox picks up new animated series with Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph
Fox doesn’t have a great track record with new animated shows, since for every Simpsons and Family Guy you have a couple Allen Gregorys or Bordertowns, but Fox’s latest animated pick-up at least has a solid cast. This comes from Variety, which says Fox has given a straight-to-series order to Bless The Harts, a grown-up cartoon about a group of “broke as a joke” Southerners who “don’t realize that they’re already rich, in friends, family, and laughter.”
Alright, that last part sounds dangerously cheesy, but let’s get back to that solid cast: Bless The Harts will star Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, and Ike Barinholtz, and it was created by Saturday Night Live and The Last Man On Earth writer Emily Spivey. Still not convinced? What if we threw in Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are on board as executive producers? Whether you’re on board or not, Bless The Harts’ 13-episode run will kick off next year at some point.
