Frances Bean Cobain files paperwork to get her dad’s guitar back from ex-husband

Frances Bean Cobain has been going through a fairly messy divorce, as evinced by claims that her ex-husband Isaiah Silva has been essentially holding one of her dad’s guitars hostage since last March. The guitar in question is a 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic, which was made famous when Kurt Cobain played it during Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged session. Silva is claiming that it was gifted to him as a wedding present, a claim that Cobain balks at, as she rightly described the guitar as a “priceless family heirloom.” TMZ acquired documents stating that Cobain has filed paperwork asking a judge to have Silva return the guitar to her undamaged, which seems like a fairly reasonable request given that, you know, she’s Kurt Cobain’s daughter and all.
