It looks like The Sergeant will reenlist for another government-sanctioned crime spree—Variety reports that Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) is finalizing a deal to reprise his role in The Purge 3. The film is slated for release on July 1, 2016, and franchise creator James DeMonaco will also return to write and direct.
Grillo’s made a career of playing professional fighters and street-fighting men in everything from films like Warrior and The Grey to his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s currently filming Captain America: Civil War as well as the second season of DirecTV’s all-in-the-MMA-family drama, Kingdom. Grill will soon be seen battling the supernatural and a peanut butter-loving little girl in Stephanie.
