Frank Ocean cancels yet another festival gig
Frank Ocean’s cancellation streak continues, with Pitchfork reporting that the Blonde singer and rapper has now dropped out of Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival. This marks the third big festival appearance Ocean—who hasn’t played publicly for a few years now—has dropped out of. He previously bailed on this weekend’s Sasquatch! Festival in Washington, and Alabama’s Hangout Festival last week. All of the events carried the same explanation for Ocean’s absence: “production delays beyond his control.”
Ocean is developing something of a reputation for dropping out of gigs, often at the last minute. Back in 2015, he stepped away from a headlining spot at FYF Fest, only to have it filled by Kanye West. Primavera is currently issuing refunds to ticketholders for Ocean’s Friday, June 2nd slot.
