Frank Ocean drops off Coldplay tour, cancels European dates
Saying he feels like “an asshole” about it, Frank Ocean has cancelled a string of upcoming tour dates—including 10 nights opening for Coldplay and slots on a bunch of European festivals. In a statement, Ocean says that he’s “sorry as fuck,” but that he had to make a “tough decision” and will “be back if you’ll have me.”
Unfortunately, Ocean didn’t elaborate as to why he cancelled the dates, but he left the stage at Norway’s Oya Festival after just four songs last week, citing vocal problems. He also bailed on an Aug. 1 show in Detroit, saying he was sick, though he recovered in time to play two shows in Chicago just days later, including one at Lollapalooza.
