Fred Armisen, Horatio Sanz, Lorne Michaels launch Latino-focused online comedy channel

If the distressingly bulletproof rise of Legitimate Political Candidate Donald Trump has had an upside—a dicey prospect, admittedly, but go with us for a second—it might be in the way it’s helped mobilize America’s Latino population, as they struggle to come to terms with a potential future president who kicked off his campaign by calling a large portion of the U.S. population rapists. And while various comedy news outlets have done a respectable job of calling Trump out as the seemingly indestructible bigot that he is, it looks like prominent Hispanic comic actors Fred Armisen and Horatio Sanz don’t think Latino-focused comedy has gone far enough. Consequently, the pair have teamed up with their old Saturday Night Live boss, Lorne Michaels, to launch Más Mejor, a new comedy studio with the motto, “More Voices, More Better.”

An offshoot of Michaels’ Broadway Video productions, the company already has a small slate of videos online for people to enjoy, including one starring Sanz and Armisen as a couple of goofy toy collectors, and a couple others hitting hot-button topics like police-related violence and the rampant, “racism-masquerading-as-common-sense” ideologies of the popular White House-seeking, quasi-sentient orange.
