Fred Armisen is going on tour

Portlandia star, former Trenchmouth drummer, and late-night TV bandleader Fred Armisen is taking his fake bands out on the road. The Documentary Now! co-creator—whose fictitious musical credentials include Crisis Of Conformity, The Blue Jean Committee, and the recently debuted Test Pattern—issued a press release via Drag City today, announcing an upcoming East Coast tour.

Armisen, who’ll presumably be playing his “art school-inflected new wave” and “regional, softsational piano rock,” will appear at Festival Supreme in Los Angeles at the end of the month, before hitting up Delaware, Connecticut, Washington, DC, and New York. You can see his full tour itinerary below, or check out the “Fred Armisen’s Local-Hearts Club Band Club Bundle,” which collects a number of his imaginary groups together on vinyl, at the Drag City web site.
