French fans call Madonna a "slut" after she cuts Paris concert short
French members of Madonna’s fan club revolted at an “intimate” concert in Paris last night, after the singer performed for just 45 minutes. Awkwardly, the show was organized “to celebrate France’s tolerance,” after Madge angered fans and far-right French politician Marine Le Pen by performing with a swastika on her forehead. Le Pen threatened to sue the singer for “public insult” after the stunt.
Tickets for the 2,700 capacity show ran from $100 to $350, at which Madonna performed only eight songs, finishing with a cover of Serge Gainsbourg’s “Je T'aime… Mon Non Plus.” After she left the stage, fans started throwing things and chanting the word “remboursez”—which roughly translates to “this show was a total rip and we want our money back, bitch"—and “salope,” which actually means “slut” or “whore.” The YouTube rebroadcast of the show was edited to cut out those cries, and comments on the video have already been disabled.
