Friday Night Lights' Jesse Plemons joins Paul Thomas Anderson's Scientology movie

Owing to a slight resemblance that we’re only now being made aware of, Friday Night Lights’ Jesse Plemons will play the son of Philip Seymour Hoffman in Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming Scientology drama, formerly titled The Master. Laura Dern’s DNA will be mixed in there somewhere as Plemons’ mom, which also sounds reasonable, rounding out a cast that also now includes David Warshofsky (There Will Be Blood) as a detective. Plemons is hopefully already prepared to immerse himself in Scientology, having abandoned the Christian speed metal origins of Crucifictorious for something more secular and godless in Friday Night Lights’ later seasons.
