Friends cast to reunite for NBC special, but it’s not really a Friends reunion
Nothing beats catching up with some old friends at the local coffee shop, especially if those friends are the friends from Friends. You can talk about the time Ross kept saying “pivot,” or how Joey would always ask people how they’re doing, or how Phoebe would sing those funny songs that nobody seemed to think were all that funny. Really, it’s always a good time when the Friends get together, so it seems like it should be pretty exciting that NBC’s Bob Greenblatt recently announced that the cast would be reuniting for an NBC special in February.
However, the NBC special won’t be a Friends reunion, it’ll be a tribute to longtime TV director James Burrows. The Friends cast will just be participating in it, as will the casts of five other TV shows. According to Rolling Stone, Greenblatt isn’t even sure if they’ll be able to get the whole cast in the same room at the same time. That means this is less of a Friends reunion and more of a Friends reference. But hey, at least you’ll be able to see Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer all maybe in the same room together at maybe the same time.
