From the annals of semi-self-promotion: Comedy Central joins forces with Onion News Network for upcoming sports spoof

Good news everyone! According to The Hollywood Reporter and, to be fair, The Onion's suave and dynamic CEO Steve Hannah, Comedy Central will be collaborating with the Onion News Network to produce a half-hour comedy based on the sports segments of the beloved comic institution's wildly popular video series. If you haven't checked it out yet, here's a taste of the hilarity in store:

In other news involving The A.V Club's sister site and shameless semi-self-promotion, the funny folks over at the Onion and the good people over at Scribner have just released Our Front Pages: 21 Years of Greatness, Virtue, and Moral Rectitude from America's Finest News Source, a hilarious coffee table book compiling many of its most gut-busting covers. Oh, and our pals over at the comedy side will be featured on Nightline tonight. Will they spend the entire time gushing over the A.V Club's Inventory or  my recent book The Big Rewind: A Memoir Brought To You By Pop Culture? Probably not, yet we remain, as always, delusionally optimistic.
