Fuck church: Keanu Reeves has a very special message for those who fear death

What happens when we die? It’s a question that’s plagued humanity since the dawn of time (I assume). Do we go to some fluffy cloud sparkle palace filled with winged things that look like us, only hotter? Perhaps we are reincarnated as slimy little infants that grow into bigger humans and repeat the process all over again. Or maybe as a salamander. Or a tree. Maybe nothing happens and we just blink out of existence like “Smell ya later, world!” It can be a frightening prospect to consider, but fear not, trembling humans: Keanu Reeves is here to offer a small token of comfort, quieting that noisy existential dread. During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Reeves was asked his share his opinion on what happens when we shed our earthly meat-sacks. His response was predictably zen and soothing: “I know that the ones who love us will miss us.”

Simple. Kind. Honest. Just like the man himself. If there is a god, his name is Keanu Reeves and he spends his time on this planet being the coolest and kindest motherfucker, and also occasionally starring in movies where he rides horses and shoots bad guys in the face with the grace of a vengeful ballerina. By the way: John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is in theaters this weekend.
