There’s something a little creepy about how this Funny Or Die sketch centers on what would happen if George R.R. Martin were to die before finishing the Game Of Thrones books. But it gets some good mileage out of imaging the schisms that might emerge among hardcore Game Of Thrones fans if there were multiple legitimate endings left behind—from Martin’s frequently rewritten final novel to the HBO TV ending to a crowd-sourced Reddit version. Plus it sets this fictional scenario in 2041, so it’s not imagining an immediate death for the guy or anything. Just wringing some 60 Minutes-inspired comedy out of his slow, slow writing process.
