First reported back in January, FX announced today that it has given a 10-episode series order to these photos of Denis Leary in a mullet wig. Titled Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, the pictures—which we believe will also be in motion, even though this is perfectly fine—will find Leary’s mullet wig playing a washed-up rock star helpfully named “Johnny Rock,” so as to distinguish him from the many mulleted Johnnys Accounting and Johnnys Night Manager At Best Buys out there. Leary’s mullet wig attempts a 25-years-later reunion with the other regrettable hairpieces of his early-’90s band The Heathens, which dissolved amid infighting, affairs, and drug problems, only to discover that slipping back into rock stardom is not as easy as, say, putting on a terrycloth bathrobe cardigan thing. Indeed, it requires putting business in front and the party behind you.
