FX officially renews Wilfred for a third season

After over a month of waiting, likely in which Elijah Wood demanded more opportunities to incorporate his DJ skills, FX has officially renewed Wilfred for a third season. Network president John Landgraf had remained positive at the TCAs that the show would be renewed once they could "work some things out'—things that may or may not but probably did involve Elijah Wood cutting it up on the ol' ones and twos, but also definitely involved its showrunner David Zuckerman stepping back to an executive producer's role. Writer-producers Reed Agnew and Eli Jorné will now be in charge when the series returns next June, resuming the increasingly, surprisingly knotty mythology behind a possibly insane guy being tormented by an Australian dude in a dog costume.
