FX sets premiere dates for Wilfred, new seasons of Louie and Rescue Me

The eagerly anticipated (by us, anyway) return of Louis C.K.’s bleak comedy Louie now has a premiere date of June 23, the same night that America will see Elijah Wood (in his series television debut) emasculated and manhandled by a guy in a dog suit on Wilfred. The debut of Louie’s second season comes two days after the release of Season One on DVD and Blu-ray, possibly with a cover that, like its recent commercials, attributes a rave review from The A.V. Club to The Onion, but there’s not much we can do about that, we guess. FX’s announcement also includes a return date for the Denis Leary-starring firefighter drama Rescue Me, the final season of which will bow on July 12.
