FX will launch Elisabeth Moss-led The Veil in April

There hasn’t been a new The Handmaid’s Tale season on Hulu since 2022, so if you’re missing the close-ups on Elisabeth Moss’ face, there’s a solution. The actor leads FX’s upcoming limited series, The Veil. At the 2024 Television Critics Association’s (TCA) winter press tour, the cable network announced it would premiere the drama in April.

Created by Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight, The Veil is a thriller about mission controller Imogen Salter (Moss) who engages in a deadly back-and-forth with another woman while on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London. Imogen’s job is to get her to reveal her secrets before thousands of lives are lost. The Veil looks at how the CIA and French DGSE work together to avert disaster.

The cast includes Josh Charles, Dali Benssalah, Yumna Marwan, and Haluk Bilginer. The Veil premieres on April 30 with two episodes, with the remaining four airing weekly.

Another big show coming to FX is Clipped, from Pose and Y: The Last Man’s Nina Jacobson. It unpacks the true story of Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne), the LA Clippers coach in 2013. The team’s then-owner, Donald Sterling (Ed O’Neill), was a racist bully. His arrogance is revealed to the public amid a power struggle between his wife of 60-plus years, Shelly (Jacki Weaver), and his mistress, V. Stiviano (Cleopatra Coleman). The show is based on ESPN’s 30 for 30 podcast, The Sterling Affairs.

FX also announced at TCA it will bring American Horror Story: Delicate back for its final four episodes on April 3. Let’s see what kind of wonders Ryan Murphy, Emma Roberts, and Kim Kardashian have cooked up for the finale. Meanwhile, Welcome To Wrexham’s eight-part third season launches on April 18. The sports docuseries documents the behind-the-scenes of the Welsh football club co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
