G. Love And Special Sauce are about to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and with that milestone comes a new album, Sugar, out just last week. (Seriously, it’s been 20 goddamn years since “Cold Beverage” and “Baby’s Got Sauce” were unleashed onto the world.) Sugar features the band’s original lineup, as well as guests like Marc Broussard, Ben Harper, and Merry Clayton. Should that kind of tease sound sweet, The A.V. Club is premiering the video for title track, “Sugar,” exclusively below. The clip was filmed live, with the band jamming in what looks to be a diner, so fans of Special Sauce’s live shows should feel satiated for now.
On that same tip, G. Love And Special Sauce have about 45 dates lined up this summer. They’ll be playing that 20-year-old self-titled debut at each stop, as well as some newer material. Information on all those dates is available on the band’s website.
