Game Of Thrones and Hunger Games stars take on the latest teen tearjerker

In addition to a previously announced role as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genisys, Game Of Thrones actor Emilia Clarke is in talks to star in an adaption of the popular British novel Me Before You. She’ll play a wounded small-town girl named Lou who’s hired as a caretaker for a former golden boy confined to a wheelchair after an accident. According to Deadline, Lou “becomes determined to prove to him life is worth living,” which leads to the duo undertaking a bunch of adventures together. Reportedly joining Clarke on those life-changing adventures is Hunger Games: Catching Fire star Sam Claflin, who is in talks to play the wheelchair-bound Will.

Novelist Jojo Moyes wrote the first draft of the script before handing it over to—fittingly for this tale of teen tragedy—The Fault In Our Stars writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Me Before You will be the feature debut for acclaimed theater director Thea Sharrock (who previously directed Tom Hiddleston in The Hollow Crown series, as well as Daniel Radcliffe in Equus on stage). The latest teen tearjerker is slated for release next August.
