Game Of Thrones badass Bronn used to be a cuddly British pop singer
While it’s been no secret that the guy who plays Game Of Thrones’ Bronn, Jerome Flynn, was in a ‘90s pop band in the U.K., The A.V. Club hadn’t really investigated that band until today and what we found, well, it has to be shared.
Flynn made up half of Robson & Jerome, the other half being his Soldier Soldier co-star Robson Green. After the white bread duo recorded “Unchained Melody” for an episode, they were persuaded by Simon Cowell to release it as a single, and it shot to no. 1 on the U.K. charts, where it stayed for seven long weeks. It sold a million copies, making it the best selling single of 1995, so take that, Oasis. The band went on to release two full-length albums, a greatest hits record, and several singles, and recorded revamped versions of tracks like “Up On The Roof,” “Pretty Woman,” and “Daydream Believer.”
While it’s adorable to see badass Bronn crooning “What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted,” it’s also a little sad. Watch the clips below and judge whether or not he’s even worthy of being the head of the city watch. [h/t Ike Barinholtz]
