Game Of Thrones casts its Asha Greyjoy, except she won't be called that

HBO’s increasingly sprawling Game Of Thrones has cast Gemma Whelan (Gulliver’s Travels, The Wolfman) as Asha Greyjoy, the headstrong and manipulative sister to Stark family ward Theon—which is something of a spoiler, we think, but everyone’s already ruined it by merely reporting this, sometimes right there in the headline, so don’t blame us for passing it along. But at the risk of creating even more confusion among an already labyrinthine world of characters, the show has renamed her Yara, to avoid viewers mixing her up with the already-established Osha. Of course, they could have solved this by having people always address her, “Asha, not to be confused with that dirty lady from the woods who looks like the bassist in a gutter-punk band,” but this works too.
