Game Of Thrones’ Finn Jones to star in Marvel’s Iron Fist for Netflix

It looks like the handsomest knight in all of Westeros will soon be heading to Manhattan, as That Hashtag Show is reporting that Finn Jones has been cast as the lead in Marvel’s Iron Fist series for Netflix. Jones plays Ser Loras Tyrell on Game Of Thrones, and on Iron Fist he’ll be Danny Rand, a guy with magical karate powers. In the comics, Rand spent most his youth learning martial arts in the mystical city of K’un-L’un, and he got his powers by defeating a magic dragon and then sticking his hands into the dragon’s heart. That’s all pretty crazy, so the Netflix show will probably either come up with something more streamlined or just ignore his origin entirely.

Either way, now that Iron Fist has been cast, the final piece of Netflix’s very own Marvel team is in place. The Iron Fist show—which comes from former Dexter showrunner Scott Buck—will premiere at some point after season two of Jessica Jones and season one of Luke Cage, and all of them will presumably be setting the stage for a big team-up in The Defenders, which will see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist joining forces to fight some larger threat.
