Game Of Thrones is getting its own con
Not content to make the people on the half-empty webcomics panel one hall over feel really insecure at other comic-cons, Game Of Thrones is now looking to rally its bannermen and claim an entire convention hall of its own. Game Of Thrones fan site Watchers On The Wall has announced the inaugural “Con Of Thrones,” set to take place next summer in Nashville, Tennessee. The site has teamed up with a group called Mischief Management—which puts on a handful of other cons—for the event, which will take place over three days and include the usual panels, performances, and workshops, as well as Q&As and autograph sessions with members of the cast. (We’d pay $30 for a picture with Ser Pounce.)
“This convention is led by die-hard fans of the series, no detail will go unnoticed,” Watchers On The Wall promises, which we’re going to assume means that everyone will be half-drunk and unwashed in order to achieve the proper medieval ambience. How that will be different than any other con remains to be seen.
The event will take place from from June 30 to July 2, 2017, so you’ve got just over a year to figure out how to make your dragon costume breathe actual fire. You can sign up for email updates on the Con of Thrones website.
