Game Of Thrones' Kit Harington and Zero Dark Thirty's Jennifer Ehle starring in movie version of Spooks
The British would also like to get in on the trend of adapting long-running TV shows to feature films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming adaptation of spy drama Spooks, which airs in the United States as MI-5, has cast Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington and Tony Award-winning actress Jennifer Ehle in leading roles. Series star Peter Firth will reprise his role as Harry Pearce, which he played in all 10 seasons, and Harington will play his new MI-5 protégé, who is on the hunt for a terrorist that evaded custody during a routine handoff, all while a threat looms over London.
Harington already played a spy who went into the cold on Game Of Thrones, as Jon Snow infiltrated the wildlings for the Night’s Watch. Ehle was most recently seen as a CIA analyst in Zero Dark Thirty (but is also well-known as Elizabeth Bennet from the 1995 miniseries version of Pride And Prejudice). Here they'll take on British spying, which is like regular spying, but with nicer clothes and more withheld emotions.
