Game Of Thrones season five to premiere at the Tower Of London

It looks like London is becoming the go-to spot for Game Of Thrones aficionados to partake of all the possibilities that come with being a fan. First there was the chance to experience a tense, political minutiae-filled meal at the Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel. And, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it now appears that if you want to catch the world premiere of season five of the hit HBO series, you’ll have to attend a red-carpet gala at the Tower Of London on March 18.

The gala event is hosted by European pay TV provider Sky Atlantic, HBO’s partner in Western Europe that airs Game Of Thrones in Ireland, the U.K., Austria, Germany, and Italy. It also marks the first time a Game Of Thrones season will premiere in Europe ahead of the U.S., a fitting punishment for our allegiance to House Stark. Audiences throughout the rest of the world will have to wait until April 12 and 13, when the first episode airs in the U.S. and Europe, respectively. That’s certainly how we’re all going to watch, unlike those millions and millions of people pirating the show. No doubt that’s why there’s only about three weeks in between the U.K. gala screening and the TV debut—any longer would give everyone on Earth time to pirate the version that’s sure to be uploaded from the gala, instead of only most of the planet pirating it. And that would just be silly.
