Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner suggests Sansa and Jon Snow could clash this season
When Game Of Thrones finally returns next month do not expect a happy-go-lucky alliance between Jon Snow and Sansa Stark. According to a new feature in Empire—collected by the fans over at WinterIsComing.net—Sansa’s portrayer, Sophie Turner, said her character isn’t entirely pleased with the guy who was raised as her bastard half-sibling, whose birth name may or may not be Jaehaerys Targaryen. “[Sansa] has this newfound power, but not as much as Jon,” she explained. “This season is all about her struggles with that.” She said she’s not so much on “Team Snow” as she is on “Team Stark.” Despite the moment of bonding between the two in last season’s finale, this tension was foreshadowed when Sansa made inscrutable eye contact with Littlefinger while a crowd cheered “King In The North” in support of Jon.
The Empire story is also reporting that Euron Greyjoy—who we already knew was pretty darn merciless—will step up and take Ramsay Bolton’s place as the most awful villain now that the latter has become dog food. “The psychos I’ve encountered have so many different sides to them,” Pilou Asbæk reportedly said. “So each scene I’ve done with Euron, I pick a new thing I wanna show. ‘This scene I want to be charming.’ ‘This scene I wanna be a molester.’ ‘This scene I wanna kill someone.’ After this season, Ramsay’s gonna look like a little kid.”
That said, Turner also argued that what’s to come is “less about the quarrels between the families” because there’s that whole White Walker problem. Thrones will begin airing new episodes July 16.
