Game Of Thrones’ The Mountain breaks another world strength record
Terrifying God-man and lover of puppies Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson must have been bored recently, because he decided to break another world strength record. Björnsson, who plays Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane on HBO’s Game Of Thrones, threw a 56-pound kettle ball 19 feet in the air, setting a new world record. But let’s be clear: The A.V. Club is not impressed, because this record was not 1,000 years old.
Björnsson was competing at the 27th Arnold Classic in Ohio this past weekend—presumably a conference celebrating the Nickelodeon show Hey Arnold! that also hosts feats of strength—when he set this new, ho-hum record. The audience likely yawned as the guy famous for crushing a dude’s head like a melon one-handedly heaved a kettle ball in the air over his head. If you watch TMZ’s video of the event, you too can be underwhelmed by seeing a guy throw something barely bigger than his foot into the air. We just threw a football in the air, like, twice as high. By the immutable laws of transitive property (and ignoring density), we are now stronger than The Mountain. Come at us, bro.
