Last year it was revealed that the makers of One Shot, the adaptation of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, had cast Tom Cruise as the film's hulking, 250-pound, 6-foot-5 drifter protagonist, an announcement that was met with no small amount of skeptical derision by suppressive persons who allow themselves to be limited by self-doubt, as well as basic spatial relations. But as evidenced by the above first look photo (courtesy of Entertainment Weekly), all of those preemptive criticisms were for naught. Here Cruise's Reacher stands by his custom-made oversized car, his massiveness absolutely dwarfing all those bystanders on the sidewalk and even a city bus. Why, he could pick up that bus in his beefy fist and hurl it at the nearest ne'er-do-well were he so inclined. Indeed, Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher, a veritable mountain of a man, and you'd be unwise to doubt him, unless you like getting hit with buses.
