Geena Davis joins Fox’s Exorcist show

According to Variety, Geena Davis has joined the cast of Fox’s modernized Exorcism reboot/adaptation/whatever. She’ll be playing a woman named Angela Rance, who Variety describes as “regal and proud, but weighed down by stress.” Also, “she does everything she can to stay positive and keep her faith even though her family is currently struggling,” and she suspects that her recent nightmares about demons “are a sign of what’s wrong.” That sounds a little overly dramatic though. Every family goes through struggles, and just because your family is on an Exorcist TV show and you’re having recurring dreams about demons doesn’t mean that Pazuzu has possessed your daughter. It could be any number of other demons.

Davis joins Ben Daniels and Alfonso Herrera, who will be playing the show’s mismatched priests, and Scream Queens’ Brianne Howey will play the poor girl possessed by a demon (or whatever). The script was written by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four, but don’t hold that against him) and it’ll be directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes).
