George Clooney may play a house pet for Darren Aronofsky

Any reports of Darren Aronofsky’s “next project” are typically as solid (and sexy!) as the director’s ’stache—and these days even a commitment doesn’t necessarily mean anything—so definitely take this story with a grain of blog salt: Vulture reports that Aronofsky is considering making his first post-Black Swan project the sci-fi film Human Nature, a long-dormant script by little-known screenwriter Jeff Welch that’s been kicking around for almost 15 years now. Supposedly the project (which will most likely need a name change to avoid confusion with this) also has George Clooney attached to star as a man awakened from cryogenic storage only to find that humans have become the pets of another species. And of course, who wouldn’t want to own a purebred like George Clooney, with his gentle demeanor and big, puppy-dog eyes?

Anyway, whether Clooney actually agrees to be Aronofsky’s lapdog remains to be seen, but Vulture seems pretty confident that the project is on its way with the help of producer Akiva Goldsman. You might think that maybe Clooney would want to avoid working with his Batman And Robin screenwriter again, but as with the evolution of humans into house pets, strange things happen over time.
