George Michael sentenced to eight weeks in prison for being George Michael
George Michael—whose downward career trajectory apparently now requires that we further identify him as the singer, not the Arrested Development character—has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison for his most recent pot-related arrest, which saw him plowing his car into a Snappy Snaps photo-processing store in July, then just sitting there “spaced out,” probably wondering how he’d accidentally traveled back in time to when photo-processing stores were still viable businesses. Michael has been arrested for this sort of thing before but had always avoided jail, which meant no one could write a news story about him and use the video for “Freedom” as an ironic coda. Until now, that is.
