Get in the van with We Are Lady Parts’ season two trailer
Up the punx with Peacock’s most beloved and under-seen shows
Lady Parts rule, okay?
After a three-year wait, We Are Lady Parts’ much-anticipated follow-up to its 2021 high jinks is heading to Peacock. With this second season, they’re getting in the van and entering their villain era, complete with a new record and a new rival. Unfortunately, being a villain doesn’t pay for studio time.
Season two sees Lady Parts entering the next phase of their careers. They’ve booked a U.K. tour and want to set about recording their first hit album. They just need some money without getting sucked into the capitalist machine. As if paying for studio time wasn’t bad enough, a rival band has begun stealing their material and fans. Can the ladies support their fellow women while also maintaining their artistic originality? Will they be able to “make it” without losing their identity? We’ll find out in May.
We Are Lady Parts is a beloved member of the Peacock family but not one of its most popular. The show has won a Peabody and several BAFTAs. More impressively, The A.V. Club called the show one of the best of 2021. Our own Saloni Gajjar wrote:
With Muslim women in control of the narrative behind and in front of the camera, We Are Lady Parts is a show like few others, offering a compelling showcase for incisive young actors, especially Anjana Vasan and Sarah Kameela Impey. A remarkable ensemble, nuanced writing, and dope original tracks made this one of Peacock’s breakout hits
We Are Lady Parts returns to Peacock for season two on May 30.
