Get Involved, Internet: Buy a stuffed version of the “this is fine” dog
Since 2013, KC Green’s online comic “On Fire”—featuring a dog in a hat calmly denying that everything he loves is going up in flames—has become a symbol for people trying not to spend their days screaming in panic because everything is fucked. (Oh god, it is, isn’t it? Jesus Christ, we’re all so fucked.) But sometimes you don’t have access to your computer (or your print of the comic, or your shirt featuring it), denying you access to the pooch’s willfully vacant eyes during moments of deep existential dread. It’s a bad situation. (Just like everything else, oh god, oh god. Oh FUCK!)
Well no longer, as Green has put together a Kickstarter to create a plush version of everybody’s favorite blank-eyed buddy, ensuring he’ll always be there for you (unless you lose him, you fucking fuck-up, like you always do). Refreshingly frills-free, the Kickstarter offer is simple: buy a dog doll, and maybe some magnets and stickers and a “burning building” background to place him in. (Green notes that the magnets and stickers might go on sale separately at a later date, if that’s something you’re interested in.) No stretch goals, no “Donate a $1000 and I’ll let you watch me eat lunch” high-end reward tiers. Just a good plush boy who’ll be there to help you quiet the endless, unceasing screaming in your head. Hooray!
