Get Involved, Internet: Help publish Funny Business, a book of photos of comedians

It’s easy to forget how much of comedy is visual, since fans place so much emphasis on jokes and comedians release albums. But photographer Seth Olenick wants to put some of the focus back on the way comedians look with his book Funny Business, a photo book featuring over 200 photographs of comedians. A longtime fan of alt-comedy, Olenick compiled the images in Funny Business after six years of photographing comedians.

The comics featured in Funny Business include Paul Scheer, Thomas Lennon, Scott Aukerman, Zach Gilifianakis, The State, Paul Rudd, Patton Oswalt, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Feig, Judd Apatow, and David Cross, among many, many others. The book also features an introduction by John Mulaney and a blurb for each photo written by the comic pictured.

Donate to Olenick’s Kickstarter and earn rewards ranging from an audio version of the photo book somehow narrated by Dave Hill and special prints to props used by some of the comedians during Olenick’s photo shoots (like Danny Pudi’s putty beard or Rob Riggle’s literal knuckle sandwich) and a Benihana meal cooked by Olenick himself with Eugene Mirman and Bobby Tisdale. The campaign has 23 days to go and is almost halfway to its $30,000 goal for printing the first edition of the book. The site also features a complete list of rewards and comedians involved in the project.
