Get stuck in The Lodge with Riley Keough in this spooky new trailer
If you’re already sold on The Lodge after watching the first trailer, feel free to abstain from being spooked out any further by this new trailer. But there are some interesting new shots and teases in the latest sneak peek at the upcoming horror film from the directing duo behind Goodnight Mommy (do these people have maternal issues or what)—including a little insight into the background of Riley Keough’s character, a woman who makes the dire mistake of agreeing to spend a weekend alone in a deserted cabin with her boyfriend’s children. Oh, and there’s a snowstorm brewing, lending a distinct The Shining vibe to the whole thing. It was also a pretty big hit at Sundance, not unlike last year’s Hereditary, which suggests that we might have the first great horror movie of 2019 on our hands—a notion that all but ensures a very annoying argument on social media over whether or not it’s actually a horror movie and a random Facebook post from that one dude you sort of know, claiming he wasn’t scared in the slightest by The Lodge and doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about.
The Lodge also stars Alicia Silverstone (as if!), Jaeden Lieberher, Lia McHugh, and Richard Armitage, and arrives sometime this fall.
