Getting tasered a good career move for Two Gallants
It's been said that dying is the best career move for a rock star, but getting beat up by a cop in Houston ain't bad, either. Just ask San Francisco indie-folk duo Two Gallants, who turned a bad-luck gig on Friday Oct. 13 into a PR boon. As first reported by Pitchfork, the band's show was cut short by a police officer responding to a noise complaint. Instead of, say, unplugging the amps (with only two dudes in the band, it might have only been an amp), the officer physically subdued bewildered Two Gallants members Adam Stephens and Tyler Vogel. The confrontation was amply documented via picture-phones and video cameras, and the story exploded on the net. Even Rolling Stone heard about it. What band wouldn't be tasered for this kind of pub?
