Ghostbusters reboot news is coming at a pace of biblical proportions. Right on the heels of news that Paul Feig has found his new team of supernatural investigators, the director returned to Twitter with a release date:
While additional casting news should soon be percolating like an overloaded Ecto-Containment Unit, there’s plenty to chew on already with yesterday’s announcement of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones forming the new Ghostbusters team. Actual hard news doesn’t have to stop the speculation, though. Christopher Mintz-Plasse as the new Gatekeeper? Sure. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as current New York Mayor Bill de Blasio? Maybe. Ricky Gervais as the Ghostbusters’ wise-cracking secretary? Fine, whatever.
