Gibson to star in new film
Been missing Mel Gibson's rugged, anti-Semitic mug on the big screen? Fear not: The 52-year-old superstar is set to star in his first film since 2002's Signs and We Were Soldiers. Since then, Gibson has been busy directing The Passion Of The Christ and Apocalypto as well as foaming at the mouth on the side of the highway; he'll play a crusading (and we're guessing gentile) cop in Edge Of Darkness–a remake of the legendary BBC series–with The Departed screenwriter William Monahan and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell also onboard. Edge Of Darkness will begin filming in Boston in August.
