Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase to reunite in the Hot Tub Time Machine
Although the chance of an actual Community reunion seems unlikely, Dan Harmon’s sort-of-joshing aside, stars Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase will have a chance to reconcile after all—in a hot tub, where all the best reconciliations happen. (See also: Reagan and Gorbachev.) Both have been confirmed to join another project that finds the laughs in alternate timelines by signing on to Hot Tub Time Machine 2, the Steve Pink-directed sequel that will once again find the same group of guys visiting yet another, as-yet-unrevealed era to laugh at its now-dated culture, such as maybe France’s Belle Époque. (“Damn, what’s with all these orchids?” Craig Robinson will say, maybe.) Of course, that group of guys won’t include John Cusack, who was recently replaced by Adam Scott. So with Parks And Recreation’s Scott, The Office’s Robinson and Clark Duke, and now Jacobs on board as the female lead and Chase reprising his role as the mysterious hot tub repairman, perhaps the film actually finds them all time-warping back a whole year to revisit the NBC Thursday night lineup.
