Glee's Chris Colfer just sold a pilot to Disney, because he doesn't do enough already

Glee’s breakout sapling Chris Colfer already has a hit TV show, an Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe award, a plum spot on Time’s just-released “100 Most Influential People” list, and a devoted fanbase that spans all ages and sexual orientations—plus he acts, he sings, he dances, and who knows, he’s probably really good at making a special kind of hors d’ouevres, one that makes everyone at the party go, “Wow, this is great—who made it?” and then Chris says, “ Oh, I did. But I can’t take all the credit, because half of it is this really great chèvre that I picked up at the farmer’s market,” because he’s also that sort-of annoying kind of humble.

Anyway, because all this is not enough, Colfer is also a writer, having scripted the independent feature Struck By Lightning—which he will also star in—and now sold a pilot to the Disney Channel. Based on Florence Laughlin’s children’s book The Little Leftover Witch, it tells the story of a young witch who falls from the sky when her broom breaks and is taken in by a new family, and despite a recent influx of witch-related entertainment, it will probably find another starlet from the Disney Channel breeding stable and do just great. So now Colfer’s got that going for him too. He’s 20 years old, by the way. When I was 20, my biggest accomplishment was successfully passing a Spanish final while on acid. Anyway, good for him, the little overachiever.
