Glen Campbell is quitting touring, saying his Alzheimer’s has progressed too far for him to keep going. The announcement has been a while in the making; the “Wichita Lineman” singer’s 2012 tour was titled “Goodbye.”
But while he's done with performing live, the country legend also has a new record arriving later this year. See You There is out July 30, featuring some revamped versions of some of his most popular songs like “By The Time I Get To Phoenix,” “Rhinestone Cowboy,” and “Hey Little One.” The tracks were recorded during the same sessions that produced Campbell’s 2011 record Ghost On The Canvas.
While Campbell’s wife, Kim, says her husband remains active, noting that he still plays golf and jams with other musicians like Jimmy Webb and Merle Haggard, “It just gets more and more difficult for him all the time.”
