GLOW's Betty Gilpin joins Ike Barinholtz and Glenn Howerton in Damon Lindelof's political thriller
Amazon’s Nazi-hunting drama The Hunt isn’t the only hunt afoot. In October, Universal and Blumhouse are teaming up for a politically-charged action thriller of the same name, one penned by The Leftovers’ Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse, the son of Lindelof’s Lost counterpart Carlton Cuse. Today, Deadline has announced that GLOW’s Betty Gilpin has joined the film’s stacked cast list.
Emma Roberts, This Is Us star Justin Hartley, and Ike Barinholtz—no stranger to politically-charged projects—will join Gilpin on the screen, as will It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia genius Glenn Howerton, who we’d really like to see starring in more studio fare. Craig Zobel, who made a splash with his first two features—2007's Great World Of Sound and 2012's Compliance—and has since pivoted to prestige TV (Westworld, The Leftovers), will helm the feature.
Story details are scarce, with Deadline describing it only as exploring the “escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America.” Does that mean it’s about Twitter? We hope not, but we remain optimistic, as the talent on display here is very, very promising.
