Listen, Godzilla: King Of The Monsters might not turn out so great, but at least we’ll always have these great trailers. Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for the upcoming Godzilla sequel, which features no less than seventeen (!) monsters, atomic breath attacks (plural), and at least one very humorous exchange between Kyle Chandler and Bradley Whitford. Dreams really do come true—if those are your specific dreams. In any case, whoever edited these trailers deserves a promotion, or—at the very least—a pizza party. And none of that Chuck E. Cheese business.
As seen in the previous trailers, the story goes something like this: Titans (aka giant reptilian monsters) have risen, our planet is in peril (so says Vera Farmiga), and the only way to ensure our survival is to wake Godzilla up from his (or her, you don’t know) cozy ocean nap and hope for the best. And apparently Millie Bobby Brown becomes best friends with Godzilla, which seems kind of cute. Directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus), Godzilla: King Of The Monsters also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins (no idea which lizard creature she’ll swoon over this time, but my money’s on Ghidorah), Charles Dance, and Thomas Middleditch, and arrives in theaters on May 31. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse: “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.
