Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer are getting Snatched in their new movie
Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer’s cinematic collaboration got a title this week. The mother-daughter comedy—formerly known as Mother/Daughter—will be called Snatched, ostensibly a reference to the fact that the plot revolves around the two getting kidnapped in Brazil. 20th Century Fox also released two images from the film. One appears to be before everything goes to shit, and one after. Unfortunately, Chris Meloni’s terminally ill treasure hunter is nowhere to be found.
Not much is known about the movie, even though it’s slated for release on May 12, 2017. Screenwriter Kate Dippold’s said it’s inspired by her relationship with her own mother, neither of whom has been kidnapped, as far as we know. Verisimilitude aside, there’s already whiff of controversy already surrounding the movie thanks to the ill-advised, culturally appropriative “Formation” tribute video Schumer and Hawn made while on set.
