Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell got matching Walk of Fame stars today

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been a Hollywood power couple for more than 30 years, sticking together through the ups and downs of their respective careers. Amazingly, though, neither of them has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, the famed tourist attraction that invites California tourists to stomp all over the names of their most beloved stars.

That’s now been rectified, though, with the pair holding a dual ceremony today to receive their respective stars. As is tradition, a number of their celebrity friends and family members came out to pay tribute to the pair, with Quentin Tarantino rattling off a typically quick-tongued diatribe of praise, and Kate Hudson—Hawn’s biological daughter, who Russell helped raise—expressed her love and admiration for both her parents.

The most emotional person at the ceremony wasn’t a part of the family, though; Reese Witherspoon absolutely lost her shit when it came time to honor Hawn, who she repeatedly called out as her role model, noting that her first email address was “[email protected].” Witherspoon tangented off into a plot description of not just Private Benjamin, but also Wildcats, doing a line-for-line breakdown of one of Hawn’s scenes with Wesley Snipes. (Hawn, for her part, seemed delighted and amused by the whole thing.)

Savvy Hollywood players that they are, neither Hawn nor Russell bothered to talk around the real reason for today’s honors: promoting their latest movies. Hawn gave a shout out to Amy Schumer and her upcoming comedy Snatched, while Russell—who also gave a wry, moving speech thanking his parents, his kids, and especially Hawn herself—made sure to end by reminding everybody to go see Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.
