Gone Girl’s Kim Dickens joins House Of Cards
Kim Dickens, currently appearing in theaters as Gone Girl’s inconsistently suspicious Detective Boney, will be joining the cast of Netflix’s House Of Cards for its third season. Dickens has presumably been cast to compensate for the show’s lack of characters who alternately squint at and flirt with corrupt protagonist Frank Underwood.
“It’s pretty suspicious the way your enemies die all the time,” she might say, with a canny, unblinking squint. Then she’ll change her mind, and smile warmly. As Kevin Spacey watches her from the safety of his sun-lit basking rock, she’ll squint at him, and then smile, and then squint one more time, before arresting him so that she can let him go. There’s no word yet on how long this delicate game of cat-and-eyelid will last, but House Of Cards is set to debut its third season in early 2015.
