Goodbye, Gotham

Goodbye, Gotham

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, April 25. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.): After five seasons, Fox’s Batman-before-Batman series comes to a conclusion, and if we had to put money on it, we’d bet it ends with… Batman. Just look at this episode description from Fox:

The series flash-forwards 10 years into the future, as Bruce is set to return to Gotham for the opening of the new Wayne Tower. A series of crimes leads Gordon to believe Penguin and The Riddler are up to their old tricks. However, when Bullock is framed for a murder, Gordon begins to piece together an even more sinister plot targeting the city, and a new figure emerges from the shadows to be the hero Gotham desperately needs.

So, yeah, Batman. Plus you can see his pointy ears in the finale trailer below. But there’s plenty going on besides, and for one last dance, Kyle Fowle will be there to recap it all.

Regular coverage

The Twilight Zone (CBS All Access, 3:01 a.m.)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC, 9 p.m.)
RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1, 9 p.m.)
The Orville (Fox, 9 p.m.): second-season finale
Better Things (FX, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

The Good Fight (CBS All Access, 3:01 a.m.): We may have discontinued coverage of The Good Fight, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still deeply invested in the continuing adventures of Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, and Michael what-the-hell-is-happening-here Sheen. To top it all off, this episode is called, “The One Where Diane and Liz Topple Democracy,” so, yeah, we’re watching.
