Goodbye Larry King. Hello Piers Morgan.
CNN has announced that Piers Morgan, a former tabloid editor and current co-host of America's Got Talent, will take over for a retiring Larry King in January. This summer, King announced he was leaving Larry King Live after a 25-year run. Morgan's show remains unnamed.
Other questions linger, too: Will Morgan be able to hid his lack of preparation for interviews with a practiced, authoritative-sounding delivery? Will he be able to book guests involved in recent controversies with the obvious promise not to ask anything but softball questions? And, most importantly, will he be able to produce a Twitter feed as mesmerizing as King's @kingsthings? A sampling of recent tweets:
