Google won’t host the neo-Nazis at The Daily Stormer either
The lack of tolerance for intolerance trend continues apace this morning—not long after Donald Trump finally managed to speak out against the torch-wielding white supremacist mob in Charlottesville, Google has denied neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer an internet home after its gradual ouster from GoDaddy. The Daily Stormer attempted to retreat to Google after faking a cyber attack from Anonymous, to try to deflect from the hateful post about the murder of Charlottesville counter protestor Heather Heyer, which is what led to GoDaddy finally deciding to end its agreement after four years (better late than never, we sigh, resignedly).
CNET then reported that the neo-Nazi site moved its domain registration to Google, and now, amid the whirlwind of other updates out of Charlottesville and the planning of more white supremacist rallies, CNBC reports that Google is “cancelling Daily Stormer’s registration with Google Domains for violating [its] terms of service.” It’s decisive action by Google, who decided to forego the 24-hour grace period that GoDaddy seemed to think was necessary.
